The Level 2 National Certificate in Door Supervision

During your course you will cover four main sections:

  • Emergency Procedures

Unit 2

  • Behavioural Standards
  • Civil and Criminal Laws
  • Searching
  • Arrest
  • Drugs Awareness
  • Recording Incidents and Crime Scene Preservation
  • Licensing Law
  • Emergency Procedures

Unit 3

  • Avoiding conflict and Reducing Personal Risk
  • Defusing conflict
  • Resolving and Learning from Conflict
  • Applying Communication Skills and Conflict Management

Unit 4

Topics covered include:

  • Positive alternatives to physical intervention
  • Definitions and legal and professional implications
  • Reducing the risk of harm
  • Good practice following physical interventions
  • Protecting self and others from assault
  • Maybo’s SAFERpi principles and toolbox
  • Reducing the risk of assault

You will take a multiple choice test on each section.

When you have passed the course and received your certificates, you can apply to the SIA (£220) if successful in your application, you will be issued with a door supervisor license, which must be renewed every three years.
